We were honored to be a small part of the Breaking Barriers job fair a few years ago, and it was truly a wonderful day. It was inspiring to see so many individuals being connected with opportunities in such a welcoming and supportive environment.
What stands out most to me is Breaking Barriers’ commitment to empowering adults with developmental disabilities through meaningful employment and person-centered support. Creating opportunities for individuals to build confidence, strengthen their independence, and become more connected within their communities is incredibly important.
Programs like Breaking Barriers don’t just help individuals find jobs—they help create a more inclusive community where everyone’s strengths are recognized and valued. Meaningful employment provides purpose, builds confidence, fosters independence, and gives people the opportunity to contribute in ways that benefit both themselves and those around them. At the same time, employers and communities are enriched by welcoming people with diverse abilities and perspectives into the workplace.
